Tonight was my company’s holiday party. Given what I wear on a daily basis, I felt like I needed to take it up a notch, so I went with white tie. The tails and fleur de lis tuxedo shirt studs were a big hit, and everyone had wondered what I would do to top my normal dress. They were suitably impressed. :) 

I had a lovely time dancing and talking with my coworkers, and after the party I went ice skating! It was a lovely evening.

I woke up to a lovely fall day and to celebrate I decided to play outside a bit. I set up my phone and remote on the porch and played down on the ground. Here are the photos to prove I was outside during the day! I’ll post detail shots later in the day.

Today felt like a purple day. I started with the color as a base and then built on it from there. I added brooch and the pocket watch to complete the look.

I’m actually in Kansas City for a bullying prevention conference, so I packed my outfits ahead of time. For today’s outfit, I wanted to do a “casual steampunk” look. I had made the brooch from a cameo piece I found, clock hands and gears. I added that to my suit, along with one of my pocket watches and Alchemy Gothic bracelet.

When I was thinking of themes for Mystique, I immediately thought of her classic white outfit. I knew I wanted most of the outfit to be white, with red (hair) and blue (skin) accents. For the red, I added a military themed tie from Cyberoptix to reflect her role as a spy and for the blue I added a blue shirt and blue socks. For the white I wore my white vest, pants and shoes. Voila! Next up were the skulls that are prominent in her design. I went with my skull & crossbones tie clip and skull belt buckle and the raven skull cufflinks doubled for more skulls and to reflect her real name. 

When I was looking at pictures of Mystique for poses, there were some truly ridiculous ones. Some of which I tried to mimic. You can see the results. :)
