Style with a gothic edge.

Today’s Style: Part 1 of the classic gothic fiction challenge from Anonymous. Frankenstein’s Monster.

  • Vest/Pants: Express
  • Tie: Express
  • Tie Pin: Custom
  • Shirt: Takumi
  • Cufflinks: Gift
  • Bracelet: Alchemy Gothic
  • Socks: Sock Dreams
  • Shoes: Kenneth Cole

I’ve always loved the idea of a well-dressed Frankenstein’s Monster. Frankenstein’s Dandy if you will. ;) But that doesn’t really say Frankenstein’s Monster to me. So the first place I started was the scars. If you’re patched together, then there should be scars. And since we’re talking about the 1800s, I wanted to introduce some steampunk elements. I know, the book was written just before the victorian period, but I hope that can be forgiven. To that end, I added my gear tie clip and my Alchemy Gothic bracelet. I also like the idea of the combination of gears and circuitry (even though that probably makes zero sense) and so I added my circuitry socks. I added a few finishing touches like level cufflinks and a full array of rings and this is what I came up with. I hope you all like it!
