When I asked my friends if anyone had a stuffed dalmatian that I could use for my Cruella de Vil outfit, I never thought that two of my besties’ son had a dalmatian costume for Halloween. Nor did I expect them to agree to let me take photos with him. But they did!
Danger, like many 1 year olds vacillated between not wanting to be put into the costume and not wanting to take it off. Between not wanting his picture taken and then being okay with it. But he is a delight and even when he is crying he is adorable. Besides, crying kind of works since Cruella is supposed to be kidnapping dalmatians. Of course I think I come across less as threatening and more concerned. Which of course I was.
Thank you to Mike and Annie for taking photos and to Danger for being wonderful.
For my outfit, obviously I needed a lot of white and black. I decided to go with tails since I didn’t have a big fur coat. Black vest, white shirt with black stripes, white pants, black socks with white dots and black shoes made up the bulk of the outfit. I don’t have much that’s white with black circles on it, so I had to make do.
I added a red tie and pocket square for detailing since Cruella uses red as a major accent color. Then I finished things off with a black fake fur collar and a brooch I made from a paper flower.
I’m pretty happy with how everything turned out!
