Captain Hook has been a favorite character of mine for years. And I’ve always loved the idea of a dark/gothic take on the character. Obviously the first thing I needed was a hook, and for that my friends the Broadwaters helped me out. It may be a plastic prop, but it did the trick. Then I needed a suitable pirate coat. My “Only Shadows Follow Me” coat from Lip Service is one of my absolute favorites, and I’ve always thought it would make a good gothic pirate coat, so I went with that. There’s a lot of red in Captain Hook’s outfit, so I wore a red shirt and red shoes to go with that theme.

And of course, I needed a jabot. 

From there it was about finishing the outfit. I went with a black velvet vest from H&M, my skull & crossbones brooch, and my pinstripe Express pants. I also brought in a sword I inherited from my grandfather, a cage from Hobby Lobby and my Noodles figure from Gorillaz for Tink.
