Man I love your style, can you recommend some good websites for buying cool motherfucking suits ?
http://www.indochino.com/ - I’ve never shopped here, but as far as affordable online custom menswear goes they are apparently the ones to beat.
http://www.express.com/ - This is my go to for a nice-looking, modern-styled suit. I’m lucky in that a 38R jacket and 30x32 pants fit me pretty perfectly and don’t really need much (if any) tailoring. And I’ve always been pleased with what I’ve bought. I usually wait until there’s a sale, but sometimes that means they’re out of my size.
http://www.ebay.com - I set up saved searches for almost everything. Like with thrift stores, I usually don’t find anything I want, but being alerted as soon as a suit I like (that’s also my size and in my price range) shows up is invaluable.
In short, find some decent resources you like, be patient (or be willing to spend some dish) and remember that it may take some time, but it’ll be worth it. I hope this helps some!
My friend and I both noticed the brooch you were wearing in today's post (Art Deco). We both think it looks like a Dalek. Is it? BTW, love, love, LOVE your style! (And I'll love it even more if you wear Dalex pins.) xx
It is a Dalek! Futuregirl made it, and though she’s out of stock at the moment she assures me there will be more in stock soon. And thank you for the style love! It is greatly appreciated.
Well, the problem with if my bosses were vampires.... They're old and not attractive to me. Haha. Oh well. Now, whenever I see a young man dressed to the nines, I shall think of this blog and vampires <3 Love it
My job here is done! Seriously though, thank you so much. And clearly more bosses should be well-dressed, attractive vampires. :)
What started your love of fashion? Was it hard to compile your wardrobe? Do you get many comments, good/bad/otherwise? What do you do for a living that's copacetic to such amazing clothes? (Hopefully I'm not asking questions answered elsewhere, if I am I apologize!)
My love of fashion started when I was a little kid, and I realized that the perfect outfit was a pair of cowboys boots, spiderman pajamas, a cape, and an LL Bean tote bag for a hat. :)
It’s taken me roughly 7 years to compile my wardrobe, so it’s definitely been a lot of work.
I get a fair amount of comments, most of which are good. The only bad ones I get are usually online.
My title is Community Architect, which basically means I run websites, social media and other community functions. There’s no dress code where I work, I just enjoy dressing this way.
I absolutely love your approach to fashion. You always look well-dressed, but there's such creativity and commitment in the way you approach it using thrift stores and such. I can tell how much work you put into it.
You're wardrobe is divine. You are a god of fashion. It makes me want to use some seriously unladylike expletives. I lovelovelove your use of purple. But where do you live? In NYC or another similarly fashion-diverse area, or do you stick out a lot where you live?
Thank you! I actually live in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area of North Carolina, so I do stick out a good bit.
